Press Release TCI Employees Organize Two Fund Raising Drives Last December, Donating to both a Holiday Party for U.S. Troops in Afghanistan and the Food for Families Food Drive The employees of Trans-Coil, Inc. (TCI) donated money, matched by TCI, to provide Christmas decorations and gifts this past December to U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan. Additionally, the employees gave money, again matched by TCI, and boxes of food for a successful 4th Annual Food Drive to help the Food for Families Food Drive. TCI initiated a program last fall where employees could contribute money towards a holiday party to be held for U.S. military personnel. Employees raised $325, matched by another $325 from TCI, to be used to purchase gifts for the troops. Employees hand-picked Christmas decorations, a 7.5 foot artificial Christmas tree, books, snacks, DVD’s, CD’s, and VHS tapes to be used in gift packages. TCI picked up the cost of priority shipping so that the packages would arrive in time for a party attended by over 800 U.S. troops. Tech. Sergeant Scott T. Sturkol of the 416th Expeditionary Group Public Affairs commented that the donations were highly appreciated. He said, “It is because of the support of our family and friends at home that we as deployed troops feel a little closer to home, especially during the holiday season.” Additionally, employees participated in a food drive to help those in need. Over the past 4 years, TCI and its employees have been participating in the Food for Families Food Drive. Employees that participated in the food drive entered a drawing to win prizes that were provided by TCI. Employees earned a ticket to the prize drawing for every dollar or non-perishable food item they brought for the food drive. Hundreds of dollars, which were then matched by TCI, and 5 large boxes of food were delivered to the Hunger Task Force on December 22nd. According to the Hunger Task Force web site, every $1 donated to the Hunger Task Force purchases $2 worth of food in bulk. Their emergency feeding network consists of nearly 80 food pantries, meal programs, and shelters. Over $1,700 in contributions, gifts, food and shipping costs were given to charity by TCI and its employees this past holiday season. Employees gave to both the holiday party held for U.S. troops in Afghanistan and the Hunger Task Force food drive during a busy holiday season. TCI and its employees look forward to future charitable events in 2005. Trans-Coil is the leading provider of peripherals for AC and DC drives.
