KRF Series Filter Product Line Expansion
Popular RFI Power Line Filter now Available in 480 Volt Design

TCI is proud to announce a significant addition to the popular KRF Series 3-Phase RFI Power Line Filters.

KRF filters are used with low voltage AC drives in order to reduce Electro-magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). There are two types of EMI. Conducted EMI is unwanted high frequencies that ride on the AC wave form. Radiated EMI is like an unwanted radio broadcast throughout the installation. These unwanted frequencies can cause malfunctions in related equipment such as lighting disturbances, incorrect metering, flow metering fluctuation, T.V. and radio interference, and even thermostat control problems. KRF Filters remove this unwanted high frequency noise by using a combination of inductors and capacitors while still allowing the lower power line frequencies to continue untouched. KRF filters have been successfully installed with AC drive systems of all brands and makes, worldwide.

The KRF Series 3-Phase RFI Power Line Filter is now available in a 480 Volt design as well as the original 600 Volt design. The new KRF has a maximum operating voltage of 480 Volts while maintaining or improving the performance that is expected from all of TCI's products. The new design retains the advanced two-stage filtering of the original design, and supports Delta connected loads.

The new 480 Volt KRF filters are not only recognized to UL-1283, but they are also CE approved. This eliminates the need for custom configuration or on-site inspections for approval, reducing overall system cost. The 600 Volt KRF filters remain recognized to UL-1283.

The addition of the 480 Volt product line, with some minor changes to the original design, means that there is a more cost effective solution for systems with a voltage requirement up to and including 480 Volts. No de-rating or re-rating is necessary when applying the filter at lower voltages.
